Encourages Idahoans to Attend Free Events & Learn How to be Part of a $6 Trillion Industry
EAGLE, ID – Republican Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Tommy Ahlquist today announced his endorsement and financial investment in Inspire Idaho along with the program’s Statewide App Development Roadshow. From March 26-30, “The Experience Tour” will visit 20 Idaho cities to demonstrate app development, programming and how Idahoans can receive training to become part of the $6 trillion app development industry –- including hands-on demos of Apple Inc.’s Swift, Xcode and Playground. The events are open to the public and free of charge and can be found here.
“I have spent years working in the private sector and have a vision and plan for an even better Idaho – a plan outlining how to bring higher paying jobs to our state and prepare Idaho kids for Idaho jobs of the future,” said Tommy Ahlquist. “Inspire Idaho is a step forward in the right direction in bringing rapid high-tech learning from industry leaders to everyone in the state – and I encourage Idahoans to take advantage of this economic opportunity.”
Inspire Idaho is a cooperative effort to eliminate barriers to free, future-ready skills development for every Idahoan who wants to participate in the rapidly growing app economy. Inspire Idaho is provided by the University of Idaho and Innovation Collective. It will inspire and support new pathways to prosperity for hard-working Idahoans by providing access to the skills that will create a talent pipeline for local, regional and statewide industry partners.
“In Idaho, we are one of the lowest average wage states and the shrinking need for humans in certain industries makes a case for us to attempt to connect as many citizens as possible to rapidly growing economies like app development. This program is designed to help Idahoans make more money, be a part of a new growing economy, and unlock the fullness of our potential.” Said Nick Smoot, founder of Innovation Collective.
